Common rush orders
The parts that run out mid-season: bulbs, wire, clips and plugs.

Same-day shipping on every order
Orders ship the same day they're placed, and shipping is free on all orders. The site is built for the moments when a job can't wait: a crew runs out of clips on the second house of the day, a customer adds a roofline at the last minute, a storm takes out a run, or the display has to be up by a date that's already close.
Common reasons for a rush order
Short on parts mid-install
Clips, plugs and bulbs are what run out first. The clip and plug collections come in both small packs and full cases, so an order can cover the one job or restock the truck.
Added footage
When a customer adds a garage roofline or a second peak, 1,000 ft. socket spools let the new run be cut to exactly the footage needed. One 500-bulb case fills 500 ft. of 12 in. wire.
Damaged runs
Wind, ice and ladders damage sockets. Replacement sockets fix a single bad socket; a new length of spool wire replaces a section. Bulb 25-packs cover dark or broken lamps.
Late-season starts
For a whole display that starts late, the C9 installation kits put wire, bulbs, plugs and clips in a single order, so nothing has to be pieced together from separate shipments.
Getting it right the first time
Rush orders leave no room for a second shipment, so check three things before ordering: bulb base (C9 is E17), socket spacing on existing wire (measure center to center), and color temperature printed on the existing bulbs' packaging. Matching all three keeps new parts identical to what's already installed.
Pricing for rush and restock orders
Small packs for fast repairs, cases for restocking the truck. Per-unit costs from the current catalog.

| Total, 1,000 ft. at 12 in. spacing | $1,240.98 ($1.24/ft.) |
The equivalent 1,000 ft. 12 in. installation kit is $1,605.10. Buying the parts separately runs $364.12 less and leaves spare plugs; the kit puts everything in one line item with a choice of bulb colors and patterns.
Fixing a dark run: a field checklist
Most same-day orders start with a run that won't light. Work through these in order before replacing anything; the first two fix the majority of problems.
- Check the outlet and GFCI. Outdoor GFCI outlets trip in rain and cold. Press reset on the outlet and on any GFCI upstream in the garage or bathroom that feeds it. Plug in a work light to confirm the outlet is live.
- Check the timer. A photocell timer in daylight won't switch on. Cover the sensor with your hand or switch it to "on" to test.
- Check each connection. Walk the run from the outlet out. A male plug that's backed out of the female plug upstream will kill everything after it.
- Check the plugs on cut wire. A slide-on plug that wasn't fully closed, or was closed off-center, may only pierce one conductor. Re-cut the wire square and install a new plug.
- Look for a damaged socket or wire. Ladders, gutters and wind pinch and cut socket wire. Look for crushed sockets, split insulation or a socket full of water.
- Swap the bulbs. If only some bulbs are dark, the bulbs are the likely cause. Swap a dark bulb with a working one nearby to confirm.
Parts to have on the truck
A crew that carries a small repair kit can fix nearly every service call in one visit:
- Replacement C9 sockets for crushed or water-damaged sockets.
- Male and female plugs: at $49.99 for 50 they're the cheapest part of the kit and the most used.
- A length of socket wire at the spacing you install most, for replacing a damaged section.
- A 25-pack of bulbs ($19.95) in each color temperature you install.
- A pack of clips for the ones that break during a repair.
Matching replacement parts
Replacement parts need to match what's installed or the repair shows from the street.
Socket spacing
Measure from the center of one socket to the center of the next. Common spacings are 12, 15 and 24 in. A replacement section at the wrong spacing is obvious once lit.
Wire color
Green wire is the standard for rooflines and foliage. Black is used on dark trim and metal roofs. Match the existing run.
Bulb color temperature and style
The packaging or the bulb base usually lists the color temperature (for example, 2700K). Match it and the style — faceted, smooth or opaque — so the new bulbs don't read as a different shade.
Last-minute installs
When an install is booked close to an event date, reduce the number of separate parts. A C9 installation kit puts wire, bulbs, plugs and clips in one order, sized to the job's footage. Measure every edge, total the footage, and pick the next kit size up. Add a timer and you have everything for a roofline in a single order that ships the day it's placed.
Weather-related failures
Rain
Water in sockets and at plug connections is the most common cause of tripped GFCIs. Keep connections off the ground and pointed down so water drains away from them. Where two plugs meet in a low spot, raise the connection with a clip or stake.
Wind
Wind pulls runs off clips and whips wire against gutters. Use a clip at every socket on exposed edges, and use ridge clips on peaks rather than letting the wire lie across the ridge cap.
Ice and snow
Ice shifts gutters and loads clips. Magnet clips can slide on icy metal. Check exposed runs after the first hard freeze.
Why ship the same day
A dark roofline in December is a customer calling every day until it's fixed. Parts that ship the day they're ordered mean the repair can be scheduled around a delivery instead of waiting for one.
Questions
My whole run is dark. What should I check first?
The outlet and its GFCI, then the timer. Reset any tripped GFCI (including ones upstream in a garage or bathroom), and cover the timer's photocell or switch it on to test. Those two fix most dark runs.
Only part of my run is dark. What's wrong?
Check the connection just before the dark section. A plug that's backed out or wasn't fully closed on cut wire will kill everything after it. If the connection is good, look for a crushed or water-filled socket.
Can I replace one socket instead of the whole run?
Yes. C9 replacement sockets swap in for a single damaged socket, so one crushed socket doesn't mean replacing the run.
How do I match a replacement section to my existing wire?
Measure socket spacing center to center (12, 15 or 24 in.), match the wire color, and match the bulb color temperature and style. All three need to match for the repair to disappear.
Why does my GFCI keep tripping in the rain?
Water is getting into a connection or socket. Keep plug connections off the ground and pointed down, raise low connections with a clip or stake, and check for cracked sockets on the affected run.
What should a service truck carry?
Replacement sockets, male and female plugs, a length of socket wire at your usual spacing, a 25-pack of bulbs in each color temperature you install, and spare clips.
When does my order ship?
The same day it's placed, whatever time you order. There's no cutoff.
How do I match replacement parts to what's installed?
Check the bulb base (C9 uses E17), measure socket spacing center to center, and match the color temperature printed on the original packaging.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on all orders to the contiguous United States, with no order minimum.
What's the difference between C9 and C7 bulbs?
C9 bulbs are the larger of the two, about 1⅛ in. across on an E17 intermediate base, and are the standard for rooflines and commercial displays viewed from the street. C7 bulbs are smaller, on an E12 candelabra base, and suit close-viewed spaces like porches, railings and walkways.
How many bulbs do I need for a roofline?
Convert the run length to inches and divide by the socket spacing. A 100 ft. roofline is 1,200 in.; at 12 in. spacing that's 100 sockets and 100 bulbs, and at 15 in. spacing it's 80.
Should I choose 12 in. or 15 in. spacing?
12 in. spacing gives a tighter, brighter line and is common on single-story homes and anything viewed up close. 15 in. spacing uses about 20% fewer bulbs for the same footage and is common on larger homes and commercial rooflines viewed from a distance.
What's in a C9 installation kit?
Kits combine C9 socket wire at the listed length and spacing with LED C9 bulbs to fill the sockets, slide-on plugs to finish the runs and clips to mount them. The options list on each kit shows the bulb colors and clip mix available.
Which clip do I need?
All-in-one clips fit shingles and gutters. Ridge clips mount along roof peaks. Tile and extended fascia clips are for tile roofs and deep fascia boards. Magnet clips hold to metal surfaces, and light stakes place C9 or C7 bulbs along walkways and beds.
